AMC-8 at 139o W.L., is a C-band satellite covering all 50 states, Canada and the Caribbean. AMC-8 provides the highest-quality service available for radio programmers and networks, whose feeds are received by more than 6,000 radio stations continuously. The satellite, also known as Aurora III, provides critical telecommunications services to AT&T Alascom. AMC-8 was launched in 2000 as GE-8, and replaced Satcom C-5 in March 2001.
