AMERICOM Names Katy Uhl to Lead Human Resource Strategy & Development
February 14, 2008 -- Princeton, N.J. – SES AMERICOM, an SES Company, announced that Mary Kathryn (Katy) Uhl has been appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources. Uhl is responsible for a broad spectrum of human resources requirements including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, organizational development, employee relations and communications, and training and management development. In this role, Uhl will report to Edward Horowitz, SES AMERICOM’s President and CEO, and will serve on the company’s management committee.

Uhl spent the past five years with Comcast, both at the corporate headquarters leading human resources for the programming division, and at Comcast Media Center (CMC) in Denver where she established a comprehensive HR function to support CMC’s bi-coastal staffing and facilities. In the mid-90s, Uhl was responsible for HR strategies, operations and reorganization during the merger of Primestar with DirecTV also located in Denver. Before DirecTV, she served as the HR manager and training leader for the Marriott International Hotel in Denver.
Formally schooled in both Organizational Management (M.A. University of Phoenix) and the Arts (B.A. Brooks Institute), Uhl has continually honed her skills earning certificates in several specialized human resources skills including employment law and Meyers Briggs.
